Orlando Bloom Talks About His Role in Prime Video’s New Film ‘Deep Cover’

Orlando Bloom stars in a brand-new action comedy called Deep Cover, which hits Prime Video on June 12. The film is set in London and mixes undercover missions with humor and wild improvisation.

The movie will premiere on June 12 on Prime Video UK.

The story follows an improv teacher, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, who pulls two of her students, Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed, into a risky operation. Their mission? Go undercover inside a dangerous criminal group.

Bloom plays a wannabe actor who’s out of work and takes his craft a bit too seriously. He said this character hit close to home. “I’ve probably been that guy,” Bloom admitted in a recent interview. “It reminded me of the tough times early in my career.”

The Deep Cover cast also includes big names like Sean Bean, Paddy Considine, and Ian McShane. The film is directed by Tom Kingsley, known for shows like Ghosts and Stath Lets Flats.

Bloom explained what drew him to the role. “I loved how real it felt. I just had to play it like it was serious, and that made it even funnier.” He added that the character brought back memories of struggling to find acting work. “It made me feel grateful. Not everyone gets to do what they love.”

Director Tom Kingsley praised Bloom’s performance. He said the actor went all-in with the role. “Orlando committed 100%,” Kingsley shared with Entertainment Weekly. “He pushed the improv to the limit, which shocked the other characters in a funny way.”

Kingsley also noted how Bloom wasn’t afraid to poke fun at himself. “He knew exactly how to make the character work. He understood the humor and leaned into it.”

Deep Cover promises action, laughs, and a look at the world of improv and acting, with a twist. Don’t miss it when it streams on Prime Video starting June 12.
