Prime Video Cancels Étoile Season 2 Despite Two-Season Order
It’s always disappointing when a show we enjoy gets cancelled too soon. That’s exactly what happened with Étoile Season 2. Even though it was originally picked up for two seasons, Prime Video has now decided not to move forward with Season 2.
The ballet drama, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, had potential. Many fans were just getting into it, and now it’s been cut short. It feels like we were promised more, and just when we started to care, it was taken away.
According to a report by Deadline, the decision to cancel Étoile Season 2 came down to one thing, cost versus performance. In simple terms, the show wasn’t pulling in enough viewers to justify how much it cost to make. It’s something that’s happening a lot in the industry right now, as streaming platforms look to lower expenses.
We understand that companies need to make smart business choices, especially in today’s economy. But it’s still frustrating for fans. Many of us set aside time to watch, got invested in the story, and were looking forward to more. Now, it feels like that time and excitement were wasted.
Were you a fan of Étoile? Are you disappointed that it won’t be coming back for another season?
