Clarkson’s Farm Season 4, Episodes 5 & 6 Review: A Comedy Ride in the Cotswolds

Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video isn’t your average farming show. Yes, it teaches you about crops, animals, and the countryside, but the real charm is in the laughs. Jeremy Clarkson is here to entertain, and he does it with sharp, silly, and self-deprecating humor.

These two episodes (titled “Chapter 29” and “Chapter 30”) show Clarkson at his chaotic best, juggling farming with wild new ideas that almost always go sideways.

Episode 5: Goats, Graves, and Growing Problems

In Episode 5, Clarkson moves his goats to a new field. But things take a weird turn when he discovers a tree planted right in the middle, a memorial for his neighbor’s beloved dog. Clarkson, caught off guard, says, “They teach you algebra in school, but not what to do when there’s a dog’s gravestone on your land.” The goats, of course, begin eating the tree. Classic Diddly Squat chaos.

This episode is full of such awkward, hilarious moments. Clarkson also starts talking about opening a village pub, hoping to get it ready before the August Bank Holiday. His confidence is high, but the path ahead is full of disasters.

Episode 6: Pub Plans and Pricey Mistakes

Episode 6 dives deeper into the pub project, and everything starts going wrong. From broken equipment to construction delays, Clarkson’s dream turns into a nightmare. Every plan he makes fails. When he guesses the renovation will cost around £20–25k, it’s clear it’ll end up costing much more.

He also tries his hand at buying cows at auction. Proud of the purchase, he returns to the farm, only for land agent Charlie Ireland to give him a reality check. “Have I done it wrong?” Clarkson asks. “You’ve not done it right,” replies Charlie. It’s another funny example of Clarkson’s overconfidence crashing into farm reality.

But through all the mess, you can tell Clarkson genuinely wants to succeed. His love for farming, even if it’s clumsy, still shines through. And when he finally figures out how to use his tractor’s sat-nav, he jokes, “No more comedy errors at Diddly Squat. You’ll have to watch Countryfile now if you want a laugh.”

Episodes 5 and 6 of Clarkson’s Farm are packed with laughs, mistakes, and some heartfelt moments. Whether he’s dealing with goats or trying to run a pub, Clarkson’s journey is pure entertainment. The show continues to deliver the perfect mix of comedy and countryside charm.
