‘Étoile’ Knocked Off Amazon Prime Video’s Top 10 by a Fan-Favorite Show
Amazon Prime Video’s popular comedy-drama Étoile has been pushed out of the top spot. The show, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino (known for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Gilmore Girls), made a strong debut with its first season. It was released all at once for easy binge-watching and quickly found an audience. But now, another show has taken over.
The action-packed Reacher has climbed back to #1 on Prime Video’s Top 10 list. Even though season 3 ended back in March, the show remains incredibly popular. Fans keep watching and rewatching it. No new episodes or specials have come out recently. That’s just how strong the fanbase is. With that kind of success, it’s no surprise Amazon is planning more seasons and even a spin-off.
As for Étoile, it hasn’t been officially renewed for season 2 yet. But don’t worry. The show had a great performance and wasn’t too expensive to make. That makes it very likely Amazon will bring it back. The streaming platform is known for renewing shows that perform well. Since they don’t produce as many originals as Netflix, they try to get the most out of the ones they have. Given that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ran for five seasons, Étoile could easily follow a similar path.
Another show making moves on the chart is The Summer I Turned Pretty. It jumped to #3 as fans rewatch old episodes before season 3 comes out on July 16. The early buzz shows just how excited viewers are.
Also worth noting is The Wheel of Time. It’s currently one of the best shows on the list. Season 3 delivered a fantastic story. Some fans even say it’s better than Amazon’s big-budget fantasy series The Rings of Power. That might not be great news for Amazon, considering how much they’ve spent on The Rings of Power.
Meanwhile, fan-favorite animated show Invincible and the historical drama Houses of David are holding strong at #8 and #9. Both have already been renewed for new seasons.
There’s also a new reality show making waves: Wear Whatever the F You Want. It’s a fresh take on What Not To Wear with a more positive vibe. Despite its unusual name, the show is already ranking at #7.
It will be interesting to see how long Reacher stays at #1. But with its steady popularity, it likely won’t leave the Top 10 until season 4 drops next year.
